Microdermabrasion is typically done on a monthly basis for good health or seasonally for anti-aging, however for corrective measures we recommend a series of 4-6 treatments spaced 10-14 days apart. More severe problems may require more visits (6 - 12 treatments). We suggest that your skin condition be evaluated after the initial series to determine the need for additional visits. Depending on the condition and age of skin, monthly treatments are beneficial thereafter to maintain results achieved along with prescribed Home Care. HOW UNCOMFORTABLE IS MICRODERMABRASION?
Most patients experience little or no discomfort during or after the treatment. Think of the Microdermabrasion treatments in the same way you envisage using a pumice stone or course sea sponge to smooth the skin. The particles of crystal used are extremely fine and only interact with surface tissue.

WHAT WILL MY SKIN FEEL LIKE AFTER THE TREATMENT?
The skin will feel light, vibrant and healthy and you will notice an immediate difference in the way the skin feels because it will be softer and smoother. The Microdermabrasion treatment has the effect of blending or removing fine lines and pigmentation caused by overexposure to the sun. You may see a glow on the cheeks, but this will normally disappear after a couple of hours. The client can, of course, return to work immediately and apply makeup as required.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST?
Depending on your choice of menu items, the Facial treatments usually take about 30 minutes. Neck and face about 40 minutes. Neck, face and upper chest about 1 hour. With pre and post treatment, allow about an hour for a session involving the face and neck. The client should plan if possible, eliminating or minimizing makeup on the day of your visit.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES THE CLIENT NEED?
A normal course of Microdermabrasion treatments varies between 4-6 at two week intervals. After the initial course of treatments, an additional treatment every couple of months is recommended to maintain the skin in excellent condition. Age 50+ should invest in a once a month maintenance treatments.

HOW IS MICRODERMABRASION DIFFERENT TO A GLOW PEEL?
The Glow Peel uses medical grades ingredients such as acids and enzymes to exfoliate dead skin cells and promote cell turn-over. It penetrates the superficial layer (stratum corneum) of the skin and reaches the live cells to stimulates cellular renewal. The Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliant which can be customized on certain areas that need more textural smoothing.
